Dear Board of Trustees,

In my opinion  we should have BYOD [Bring Your Own Device] at Nelson Central School. BYOD is when children bring devices such as laptops, tablets ,IPADS and IPOD touches to school to use for learning.

Some believe that the school should provide the devices but, most devices cost too much money so the school can’t buy a device for everyone. So if we have BYOD at school, the school won’t have to spend millions of dollars.

Devices can also make learning fun, as you can play fun educational games such as studyladder and minecraft. We only have  5 computers  in our class so,if we bring in devices that can access the internet, we won’t need to wait a turn on the computers.

Lastly, more than half of Kahikatea syndicate want BYOD . IPADS and other devices  haves apps that computers can’t access. Also you can Skype people , make presentations and  blog posts.

In conclusion ,  I believe we should have BYOD at NCS because it would save the school money , make learning fun and if your class only has 5 computers  like mine you won’t need to wait a turn.

Kind Regards,
Camryn Room 5 NCS.
